Funny little friends

These last few weeks of summer have been a little painful. It's so stinkin hot outside. The pool feels more like a big hot bath tub and we are OUT of fun things to do. Reese is really looking forward to pre school. She will be going to the same place she went to Mother's Day Out last year and EVERY TIME we drive by she says I want to go NOW! Believe me honey I want to take you NOW! Ha!
Anyhow on Monday Reese asked if she could invite Landry over to play. I thought it was a great idea. These little girls seriously make me LAUGH so hard. They really play well together and I just love listening to them talk to each other. They were also taking turns calling Ashton (Landry's big sister) on the phone.

They played some dress up and did some singing and dancing. Hilarious!

After that we went outside to ride bikes and I could barely keep up with the two of them much less the camera:)

Little Ladybug's

Reese Loves "Fancy Nancy" books! She recently got a new one called "Fancy Nancy Tea Parties" and it has lots of fun ideas for little girlie girls. Every time we were looking at the book Reese kept asking me to make these lady bug cookies...

We rolled out and baked the sugar cookies before nap time and then decorated them after nap time. Reese was in LOVE!

We had a TON of cookies so we took a few to our fav neighbors. Our friend Ashton said they looked more like watermelons then ladybugs but oh well! Ha!

This was a fun little way for Reese and I to spend a summer day together.

I have to tell you that these cookies were GROSS! Red food coloring tastes HORRIBLE in my opinion! Luckily Reese didn't mind though.

The Children's Museum

While we were in Oklahoma my mom wanted to take Reese to the Jasmin Moran Children's Museum. She has taken my nephews several times and she was just itching to take Reese so after riding the school bus we headed to the museum. They had a ton of fun things for kids and we will for sure have to go back to see it all. Reese was running around like a crazy person checking everything out:)
She started out exploring the ambulance

preparing to climb the fire truck

and thinking about sliding down the fire pole!

Next we moved on to work in the Oklahoma Natural Gas tunnels.

Then we took turns in the Tornado Tunnel...Yikes

The wind started out slow and then got faster and faster in the tunnel. Reese thought it was pretty cool at first...

but by this point she wanted out!!!

After all that tornado experience Reese was well prepared to do the weather forecast!

It's a good thing we checked the weather before take off too...

Next stop the bubble room.

Mommy and Reese getting inside a bubble..

and Nanny too!

We ended the day with a "dinosaur dig" in this big sand pit. This was Reese's favorite part by far. She would have stayed in there digging forever!

Mom and I enjoyed the chance to sit and visit and watch her play. It was a great day and Reese was TIRED out afterwards:)

A School Bus!

Last week Reese and I went to Oklahoma to spend a few days with my folks before Reese starts pre-school. Reese has been wanting to ride a school bus for many months. Since my mom just retired from being a teacher she said she thought she could make that happen. Yay! Reese was SO excited!

Of course we had to take Dolly and Poppy on the bus with us.

Reese laughed the entire ride on the bus! She was so happy! It is always fun for me to see the world through her eyes! Think she will feel the same way about riding the bus when she is 14?:)

This super nice man John took us on a short ride around the high school. Reese thought it was cool to see where Mommy went to high school and she is now telling everyone she is about to start high school! Ha! After he parked the bus he showed Reese how the lights worked on the bus.

A special event in Missouri..

Last weekend Bob's nephew Nick and Nate got Baptized so we made the trek to Missouri for the event. On Saturday we spent the day just hanging out and letting the kids play.

This little tractor was a big hit.

Reese still needs LOTS of work at stearing..she got some help from her cousin Nick. She was cracking us up with her driving moves!

On Sunday we went to church where Bob and I stood up for the boys during their Baptism. It was a special day for them and we were proud to be involoved.

Congratulations Nicholas and Nathan!

Splish Splashing with Friends!

Recently we met up with some of our pals at the splash park. Being the non-photog person that I am I didn't even take my camera. Thank goodness for Erin the "mama-razzi" she captured these pics of the girls.

It was a little overcast that day and a few of the kids were thrilled with the water but not my Reesey. She LOVES the water! Can you tell??

Thanks E for the pics. We had fun!
