O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A

Reese and I just got back from visiting my folks for a few days. In the past this child has been just miserable on road trips, which means everyone in the car is also miserable! However this time she did SO much better and I was so happy. We did a lot of singing, listening to Radio Disney and she did quite a bit of reading...

This girl loves "Fancy Nancy"..she looks at these books over and over again and we read them OVER and OVER and OVER again. Too bad Bob and I are a little sick of them:)

When we got to Nannie and Poppy's we had dinner and played outside. Look at this super cute little bench that my mom found for Reese. I just love it and so does Reese. Excuse the filthy child..this Popsicle was the only thing that stood between bath and bedtime.

The next day Reese and I had a play date with some very special friends Maggie and Elizabeth. Elizabeth and her husband Seth used to work and were good friends with Bob before I even knew Bob. After we moved to Texas, Elizabeth and I "bumped" into each other on Babycenter and realized we were both pregnant with girls due on the same day. We became fast friends through email, blogs, etc and we chatted often. Our girls were born less then 24 hours from each other and we have compared notes every step of the way. So this was such a super special play date because it was the first time all four of us had actual met in person..weird huh!:)

Maggie and Reese had a a blast and were both super busy!

We played for awhile at there house and then walked a few houses down to her mom's house. Apparently back in his single days poor Bob was like a stray puppy and Elizabeth and her sweet momma used to feed him all the time so her mom wanted to meet Reese and I as well. They have a beautiful backyard and all these fun outdoor toys..Reese was in heaven.

Look at these two precious little girls!!

You just can't go wrong with fudge bars and swimming pools. I will say that although I LOVE our pool it was really nice to be able to let the girls just run around and play in the water without having to follow them around constantly and worry. Elizabeth, her mom and I had the best time visiting while the kids played. We had so much fun and our goal is to get the girls together again before kindergarden.

Yesterday we stayed in our PJ's until lunch time and just played all morning with Nannie and Poppy. Reese adores them and I just love to watch them play. We had lunch and then headed home during nap time so she could sleep in the car.

One of the best things about going on a trip is coming home...we missed Daddy are are happy to be home.

Swimming Playgroup

On Monday Reese and I hosted one of our first few swimming parties in the new pool. We had some of our Strollerfit friends over to play and swim and it was fun.

Sorry this is not the best picture but these two girls are some of my favorite toddlers! Reese and Landry hiding from the camera:)

Reese loves to swim and loves having friends to swim with. I was proud of her for actually sharing her toys and swimming gear with relatively little fit throwing.

All the little kiddos loved the hot tub (don't worry it wasn't hot).
Lauren and Andrew and there Momma's in the hot tub...

Reese finally got to take someone her own size in her new Barbie house and they were pretty happy in there.

This is one of Reese's favorite friends Landry. They are so sweet and always hug when they see each other. Although not depicted in this photo Reese actually shared the SACRED pink phone with her little friend....now that's love:)

We had a great time and look forward to much more swimming fun!

Wordless Wednesday..even Nike gets phone calls!!

Father's Day 2009

Look at what Reese made for Daddy for Father's Day this year..

This is what Reese and I both gave to Daddy..

We have been having some grill issues lately (I'll spare you the gory detail but I can I just say FLAMES)!! Anyhow we wanted Daddy to get to pick out his own new grill so he has been shopping around.

I am so happy that Reese has such a wonderful Daddy. Seriously she is so lucky.

Bob..Reese and I both adore you. Happy Father's Day!
Love,
Reesey and Mommy:)

Hostages in the Barbie House:)

Reese's new favorite thing is to drag Mommy, Daddy, Nike and Lady into the house! Daddy is the most willing to just go and hang out in there:) He's a good Daddy! The dogs hate it and only stay in for a brief moment so I haven't been able to get any pics of them in there. Reese LOVES this house! It provides hours of outdoor entertainment. When we pull in and out of the driveway Reese's says "hi house" and "bye bye house"! Ha! Thanks again to our sweet neighbors for giving it to us.

Nanny and Poppy

While we were on our trip my folks came to watch Reese. It was so nice to have them staying at the house so I didn't have to worry about the dogs, mail, kiddo etc. They were very helpful.

On Thursday Reese had her first art class. My Mom is a wonderful artist..she can paint, sew, draw, etc.. so I thought it was cool for her to go with Reese.

They made these cute name tags. How cute is she?!

She also did a lot of swimming with Poppy..

and playing in the Barbie house..

They all three had a great time together. My Mom said that Reese said "Mommy at?" and "Daddy at?" a lot while we were gone. We thought it was funny and boy she was SO happy to see us when we got back. My parents went home on Monday and all week I have been hearing "Nanny at?" "Poppy at?" She is a funny girl:)

OH OH Mexico!

Last Thursday Bob and I left for our first vacation since Reese joined the family. We talked about taking her but given her young age and need for naps and early bedtime we decided it was in every one's best interest if she stayed home. So my folks came to town to babysit while we were gone. It was absolutely the best decision..we had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying some adult time.

Here is a look at the view from our room...

We are really very lazy vacationers. Pretty much the entire trip was spa, beach, eat, drink, beach, eat, drink and repeat:) We did go running twice to help offset the extra eating!

Sadly this is the only picture we took together. I think we were heading to the beach either after lunch or breakfast..

We rented this little villa which was awesome. After a short time Bob had to move inside to avoid sunburn. He is a porcelain God..ha!

One night we took a cab to the "party zone" and we quickly realized we are too old and tired for this lifestyle. We were back in our room by 10pm and we made the decision that Reese will never go to Mexico without us..even if she us 40! Ha!

A dear friend of mine told me right before Reese was born that the best gift I could give my kids is to stay happily married to their father. I think this is so true and I was happy we took the chance to get away together. However by Saturday night I was missing Reese and I was happy we were heading home on Sunday.

Welcome Home Barbie!

Every time we have been to our neighbors house, Reese has enjoyed playing in little Blake's Barbie house. A few weeks ago Blake's mommy called and said that since Blake was 8 years old she decided she was to old for her Barbie house and she wanted Reese to have it.

Moving Day
On Sunday Reese was starting to feel better from having Hand, Foot and Mouth so we thought it might be a fun day to get the house. We headed over to the Caffrey's to hang out and watch the Daddy's move the house. It was so funny watching the Daddy's moving this thing down the sidewalk with dollys. Think...when you see a truck with a double wide on the highway! They needed a wide load sign:)

Once they got the house moved we hung out for awhile and had pie. Poor Reese had horrible blisters in her mouth and had barely eaten in 4 days so when she expressed an interest in chocolate pie I said sure. I'm pretty sure she enjoyed it what do you think? Ha!

First thing Monday morning Reese wanted to go play in her "ouse" as she says it. We spent most of the day playing outside.

On Monday night I went to get my haircut and when I came back this is what I found....

Not only did Reese talk Daddy into getting McDonalds for dinner but they had a picnic in the Barbie house! I had left them a weight watcher casserole to cook.(Hmm maybe they are trying to tell me something:)! Bob said they had a great time and Reese just loves her little house.

Here is the only picture we got of sweet Blake..

I pray that when Reese is 8 years old that she will have that same sweet and generous spirit. First we have to get past the "no no mine" stage..sigh!
