This past weekend Reese had fun getting to know Bob parents who came to visit from St Louis. She even got to stay up late one night and play with Mimi. Here are a few pics.

An American Girl

On Saturday mornings I get to go to the gym, run errands or get a pedicure while Bob and Reese spend the morning together. Although it is only a few hours to myself it is a really nice break for me. Also I think it is good for Bob and Reese to have some one on one time. When she was really little he used to look at me with this deer in the headlights look and say, "how long will you be gone" with fear in his voice. Now that she is a little older and easier to care for he has really started looking forward to Saturday mornings with Reese. He takes her out for breakfast, to the toy store he has even taken her to buy clothes! Lately when I get home from my outing they are still gone so I know they are out having fun.

This past Saturday he decided to take her to the Galleria to the American Girl Store. Now I have never been to this store but I have heard it is quite the place for anything dolls. You can get a doll made to look like your daughter, dress like your daughter, go to the movies or have tea with your daughter. He quickly realized that Reese may be a little young for such a doll when a helpful lady tells him..oh you should get her a "Bitty Baby." Of course they have babies that look like your daughter!! So Reese got a baby that looks just like her whom we are calling Dolly. I asked Bob what he was going to do when Reese wanted to go back and have tea with her doll and he said, I'll take her to have tea with her doll." Reese is very lucky to have such a great Daddy!

Everyone meet Dolly...Dolly this is everyone!

As usual she enjoyed the bag it came in just as much as the doll:)

Well Reese is moving all over the place this week. We were just bragging about how good the dogs were to not chew on Reese's toys. On the other hand I'm not so sure about Reese..she desperately wants to eat the dog toys..how do we break this??? Really I am asking?? Anyway we are having tons of fun in this little zoo of Reese, Nike and Lady..we love you all a ton:))

She's Crawling!!

Sorry these aren't the best pictures..Bob took them on his iphone which Reese was crawling to get. Smart girl!! I have been asking for an iphone for months and now Bob will for sure buy her one before me:) She has been rolling and creeping for a few weeks but today she started to really crawl. Bob and I were sooo excited to both get to see this. I have a feeling life will never be the same! I've got to learn how to post video..Amber or Lindsey?

Happy Father's Day

Dear Bob,
I want you to know that you amaze me. I watch you how you juggle, work, ME, Reese, working out and so many other things and always have a pleasant attitude. I wish I could be as happy and pleasant half as much as you. You are a wonderful Daddy and I love watching you play with Reese. She adores you as do I. Just your presence can make her smile and laugh. You are a wonderful father and husband and we are very lucky to have you.

Fatherhood has made you a better man. You are much more pleasant in the morning, a better Christian and much less of a potty mouth because of Reese. You make us happy each day when you come home to see us. Happy Father's Day! We love you!

We had the luxury of having my Mom in town this weekend so we had a babysitter and we got to have some couple time as well as some fun family time. Yesterday morning we took Reese to her little friends birthday party. Lily turned one...and it made me sad because I realized that Reese will soon be next. We didn't end up with any pics of Lily but here is one we took for my Dad in the park during the party.

Last night we went to House of Blues for dinner...Bob has been wanting to go there for awhile. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed getting to spend some time together.

Today Reese and I tried to let Daddy have some time to do the things he likes. He is obsessed with filling in the holes in the backyard. He tried this last year and those silly dogs of ours destroyed his work. Today he got some sod from a friend and spent some time working in the yard.

The rest of the day we mostly spent together going to church and then cooking out for dinner. Here is a pic from this morning before we headed out to church.

THURSDAY THIRTEEN

Thanks to Lindsay for yet another blog topic Thursday Thirteen! I've kinda been in a funk the last few days...so I thought I would use this opportunity to list thirteen things that I am thankful for to help me snap out of it. I realize that God has blessed my life in so many ways.

1. My hubby Bob (this one is kinda obvious) he is a great husband, friend, father, and provider. It doesn't hurt that I think he is cute and funny and Reese is crazy about him too!

2. My beautiful daughter Reese, again obvious!

3. My home and all it's contents including a nice comfy bed. If you watched the Today Show this morning and saw that house float away how could you not be thankful for having a roof over your head.

4. No mice or snakes in my home...also a segment on the Today Show this morning. I HATE snakes and mice..YUCK! I'm thinking I should stop watching the Today Show for all it's scary/depressing topics??

5. Family and friends who love me even when I am in my funk.

6. Bob has a great job and I am able to stay home with Reese. I am so grateful that she doesn't have to go to daycare..it would break my heart to leave her.

7. My Mom is coming back tomorrow..YAY! I am really looking forward to the adult conversation during the day when Bob is at work (I've been feeling a little lonely lately..hence the funk). Also Bob and I get to go on a date this weekend ..oh boy!!

8. All of our basic needs are met including plenty of food on the table(maybe this is part of my POINTS counting challenge). So many people have so little that I think sometimes we should just stop and thank God for meeting our needs with such abundance.

9. Nap time...I love the fact that Reese takes a nap every single day at the same time and allows me one solid hour of ME time. This is my Young and the Restless/Internet surfing hour and I totally enjoy it. A little rest for me makes me a much more fun Mommy when she wakes up.

10. For the last two nights Reese has slept ALL NIGHT...10 wonderful hours! I can't even begin to tell you how much I like my sleep:) Let's all pray that this becomes a habit for her and she doesn't revert back to getting up a million and one times in the night again!

11. Diet Dr Pepper...it doesn't take much to excite me:) Yes I have been trying to cut back but sadly I am still addicted to this sweet treat!

12. The fact that I am healthy and have a healthy family. Also when we are sick we have health insurance so we never even think twice about seeing a doc. Really we are so lucky in this regard!

13. The fact that I am soooo clueless that I just wrote this Thursday post on a Wednesday:)

I've Been Tagged!

I've Been Tagged
This is a fun little game that bloggers play, so I guess being tagged officially makes me a blogger! The rules are as follows:
1. Post the rules!
2. Answer the questions about yourself
3. At the end of the post, list 5-6 people you would like to tag and leave a comment on their blog letting them know.
4. Let the person who tagged you know that you posted your answers.

So here goes....

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?

I was a junior at OU...going to summer school, working at JCP and spending way too much time and $$ at The MONT.....oh the yummy swirls! I love those swirls...just ask Bob about the time when I took him to The Mont:)

2. What are 5 things on your to-do list today?

Going to workout at Strollerfit, taking food to a friend who just had a baby, playing with Reese, cleaning up the house (dog hair..ick), counting my POINTS again after another weekend of wild eating, laundry, taking Father's Day gifts to the UPS store so they will arrive on time, picking up the dry cleaning and prescriptions at Wal-greens, cooking dinner, and the list goes on and on.....

3. What are some snacks you enjoy?

I LOVE anything sweet but since I am counting POINTS I like to eat a lot of fruit. It is very good choice..lots of bang for your POINTS buck! Purple grapes are my favorite but I also enjoy grapefruit, cherries, and watermelon. Every evening I splurge on a 3 POINT Slim a Bear ice cream and after I finish I always tell Bob that tomorrow I am going to save enough POINTS to eat the whole box. Then the next day I never actually do it:)

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?

I would for sure put aside enough money to take care of Miss Reese for life. No point in her having to worry about money if she doesn't have to. Then I would send my niece and nephews to college. I would buy my parents a new house or the bigger kitchen my Mom is always talking about wanting. I would travel...there are lots of places in the world I would love to see. I would for sure give lots of it away...I love to give gifts and buy things for other people.

5. What are three of your bad habits?

Hmmmm?? I am terrible at standing up for myself. I let people walk all over me and I never say a thing to them. Then I get mad about it and take it out on the people who I know won't get mad at me (usually my Mom or Bob) sorry guys. I am either all or nothing when it comes to most things like diet, exercise..etc. So at times I have poor eating habits. I drink too much Diet Dr Pepper.

6. What are 5 places you have lived?

Shawnee, OK
Norman, OK
Tulsa, OK
Orlando, FL
Daytona Beach, FL
Oklahoma City, OK
Frisco, TX

7. What are 5 jobs you have had?

Lifeguard, Shawnee Regional Pharmacy, JCP, ERAC, OnStar/General Motors, Mommy

8. What is currently playing on your IPOD?

I have a totally random mix of country, rap, jazz, rock, aerobic music, etc... Lately I have been on a big kick of downloading Christian music. Bob and I are working on our play list to gear up for our half-marathon training that we are starting soon.

9. What are the last 5-6 books you have read?

In the last year I have read probably 50 books about pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or parenting so I won't bore you with all of those titles. Just a few that I really enjoyed: The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, The Happiest Baby on the Block, What's in the Bible for Mom's, All of the What to Expect Books, I am dying to read the new Jenna Bush book Ana's Story. I got it for Christmas but I haven't gotten to read it yet:(

10. Who do you want to tag?

Amber
Victoria
Jan
Lindsey
Tyne

Race for the Cure

Today we went out to run the Race for the Cure with a team of my Strollerfit friends. About 20 Stroller-fitter's along with about a million others rolled out early this morning to support breast cancer. Considering Bob and I had run many road races in the past we thought this would be no big deal...a quick little 3 mile run to start our day.

HA!! Little Miss Reese had other plans for us. There were so many people out there and it was sooooo loud...not a good combo for a young baby. We started out running the first mile or so and then Reese started SCREAMING. People were looking at us like we were abusing her so we finally decided to stop and walk and we took turns carrying her the rest of the way. Actually Bob carried her most of the way...he's a good Daddy like that. We hung our heads in shame as we walked a 5k..we were wanting to tell people that we could have easily run the whole way but our kid wouldn't let us. Oh the joys of parenthood:)

Funny Fridays

I borrowed this blog topic from Lindsey the blogging queen along with Wordless Wednesday. Yesterday Bob was reading my blog and he said, "Lovey how come on Wordless Wednesday you aren't wordeless all day? That would be great," he said. Oh I can't wait until Wednesday to see how much I can chatter his ear off:) I love you lovey!

7 Months Old!

Tomorrow Reese will be 7 months old. My baby girl will be closer to one then I am ready for. She is growing and changing so quickly. Although she isn't technically crawling she is inching, scooting and rolling all over the place. Her hair is getting thicker and longer every day but still no teeth. Reese is such a sweet little baby and we are so in love with her. She says Dada to both Bob and I and my Mom swears she said Nannie the other day although nobody else was around to hear it:) God truly blessed us with this sweet little angel. We recently had some family pictures made so here are a few of them.
