An Easter Eggstravaganza!!!

Reese's little friend Lily hosted a super fun Easter party this year. As soon as I told Reese about the party she was SO excited! She asked me every day for over a week "is today my party?" Oh my goodness she just couldn't wait!!
The party was on Monday afternoon so that morning when I answered that, "Yes today is indeed your party but first we are gonna go to Mygym, eat lunch and take a nap BEFORE we go to the party," you can imagine her anticipation!

After nap time she put on her new little bunny dress that Mimi sent and gathered up her Easter basket. She was eager to pose for a few pics before we left...

Finally we went to the party where the kids played bubbles, chalk, and colored some eggs.

Thank goodness Reese and Lily had a chance to get some girl talk! These are both some very chatty two year olds! They crack me up:)

After a bit we moved the party to the little park across the street to get ready for an Easter egg hunt. First we smashed these cool confetti eggs...

and posed for a picture in the gazebo.

When it was time for the egg hunt Reese was off and running. Look at her go!!

Checking out her loot!

Thank you Niki and Lily we had a blast as always!

Fun with a little friend!

Our friend Alyson recently came to town to visit her momma. She used to live here but has since moved away. We were too busy chatting to properly photograph but here's one we took with a phone. We were thrilled to get together and the kids seemed to have fun together too:)) Baby David is such a sweet and perfect baby. I'm certain that Reese will be bossing him around in the near future..ha!

Reese's Tube Adventure!

For the last month Reese was in Dr Nails office every week with an ear infection in one or both ears! Poor baby was miserable as well as Mommy and Daddy were exhausted from the sleepless nights! After several rounds of oral antibiotics and 6 shots it was decided that Reese needed tubes in her ears. We took her in early Wednesday for the procedure.

Here's a look at my little "drunk" baby before she went to surgery! Ha!

Please Daddy no pictures:)

She was sososo funny! Bob told her he better not ever see her in that condition again! ha! We were so nervous when they came to take her to surgery that she was going to get hysterical but she was very relaxed so she did just fine! The entire procedure was only around 20 minutes which was good since we were nervously waiting to get our baby back. They told us that when most kids wake up from the surgery they wake up MAD because of the irritation to the ears. As soon as she opened her eyes they came and got us and let me sit and rock her. They said she was just singing and talking away..not a mad bone in her body! That's my sweet sweet Reese!

We are so very thankful that she was able to have this surgery and especially that she is feeling so much better! God is good!

First Day of Spring....

and we woke up to SNOW! Wow!! Bob woke up first and told me it was snowy outside. I told him I didn't believe him and went back to sleep. Later when Reese got up she kept saying over and over again "should we go outside? Should we?" Since she and I have both been sick we decided we better wait until it warmed up a little to go outside. We went to church, had lunch and took naps and then ventured outside for a few minutes. It was sooooo cold and windy so we weren't out long.
Reese and Daddy were able to build a little Snowman.

Although this last little snow was pretty we are sooo ready for some swimming weather!

Happy Birthday Poppy!

Last week was my Mom's Spring Break so they came to spend a few days with us and babysit while Bob and I went to the race. It happened to be my Dad's Birthday as well so we had a little celebration of him..

As usual Reese took it upon herself to blow out his candle:)

Daddy the BIG pushover....

A few weeks ago Mimi and Bob sent Reese a $25.00 Toys R Us gift card. I think it may have been for Valentine's or maybe just because. Anyhow, Saturday when Bob and Reese went on their breakfast date they decided to go shopping with her gift card. I knew better then to send the two of them to Toys R Us without ADULT supervision..clearly I had a lapse in judgement! ha!

Our little neighbor Emma recently got a new scooter and she and Reese had been "sharing" it some. I use the word "sharing" loosely as it was much more like fighting over the new scooter! Reese had been asking for a scooter and I had been saying no so I was only slightly surprised when they come home with this....

Yes that's right..you cant get all that for 25.00 bucks! ha!

It only took a few times like this for her to get the hang of it!

I will say that she looks so cute on her scooter and she and Emma are both happy now:)

Rock n Roll Run for Breast Cancer!

Last Sunday Kim and I set out for our second half marathon. Bob had originally planned to run this race and he was even registered to run but because of his surgery he had to sit this one out. Luckily it was a much warmer day and a great course! We both had a personal best time of under two hours! Yay!!

It's funny Bob was in charge of the camera and he did manage to snap a few of us during the race but there were a lot of this....

Real Nice Honey!!

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!!!!!

The last few days here in Texas have been absolutly gorgeous! With all the nasty weather we have had and a sick kid I feel like we have been couped up inside for way to long. We have been spending every minute possible playing outside and loving it!

Blake and Reese picked this flower from Blake's yard and brought it to our yard to plant..how cute are they:))

Notice Bob in the background goofing around on Blake's bike..Oh dear he's a nut!:)))

Poor Sick Baby Reese

The last two weeks have been tough on sweet Reese. Last Tuesday she came home from Mothers Day Out really tired and grumpy. She went to bed early but was up most of the night with a high fever. We went to see Dr Nail the next day and she had an ear infection and viral pneumonia. Poor baby was miserable. We did a lot of this for the next few days.

After the first day on antibiotics her fever was gone and she seemed better but still not sleeping at night and really grumpy. She went back to MDO the following Tuesday and her teacher told me when I picked her up that she was just not her normal happy singing self and suggested I take her back to the doctor. I ended up getting the last appointment that day with Dr Nail. Poor baby had a double ear infection and her ears were much worse then the week before. They said she must have been resistant to the original antibiotics so we opted for a shot. When the nurse came they said the dose was too big for one shot so they split it into two, one in each leg. OUCH! She was not happy but thankfully she seems to be feeling much better now! Yay!!

The Cowtown!

Last Saturday I ran in the Cowtown half marathon. Since Bob is still recovering from surgery he is out of racing for awhile..bummer! Thank goodness I have a new running friend, Kim. We met at boot camp and started running together a few months ago. She not only talked me into running at 5 am when its 23 degrees outside but she talked me into running the Cowtown half marathon with her on a cold, windy day:).

Everyone this is Kim! Kim meet everyone:) ha!

Before the race..it was COLD!!

Here we are after the race. We finished in just over 2 hours. Soooo glad to be done running!

We have another race coming up next weekend so stay tuned...
