Bye Bye Baby Mullet!

Lately Miss Reese's hair has been looking like a MESS all the time. I want her hair to grow longer so I can do fun things with it, but it really needed a little shape up. So at the recommendation of Reese's favorite peeps Lily and Macie we headed over to Snip-It's haircuts for kids. Bob wanted to go so we had to go on a Saturday. In the future we won't be going on a Saturday because it was a zoo. Anyway the place is really fun and it's a good thing because we had to wait awhile.

Here are a few pics of Reese playing before the "torture" began!

Here his her before picture..

When it was our turn I quickly told the lady what I wanted before we put Reese in the chair. She thought sitting in the chair was fun but as soon as the lady came near her with the scissors this is what she thought....

Bob and I tried everything to calm her down all to no avail. I even offered her a lollipop which is something that she has never had..apparently she wasn't that impressed!

Despite the tears from poor Reesey the whole thing was over in about 5 minutes. Don't worry I didn't let her sit there all day and suffer. As soon as I got her out of the chair she was totally fine and she even got a prize. Afterwards Bob had to go to the office so Reese and I stopped at the grocery store. While I was unloading the groceries and waiting in line I thought it was a great opportunity to take a picture of the back of her head while she was contained in the basket. The picture isn't the best because I took it with my phone.

On a funny note (some of you may not think this is funny but if you know Bob and I and the way we are then you may appreciate the humor)! Sometimes Bob will tell me that he will see a pretty lady somewhere..like usually when he is shopping for me. He will say that they will ask him if what he is buying is for his wife and if the lady is pretty he will say, "Yes it is....God rest her soul!" I always think this is funny and he has come home with some pretty nice gifts..a watch, a purse, bath stuff..etc all while telling me he told this to the lady at the store.

So look closely to the cute single guy in the background of Reese's hair pic at the grocery store. (You know he is single because he has one of those little hand carts with like Beer and toilet paper)! He walks up behind us as I am taking a picture of the back of Reese's head and Reese says "Hi Dada". (She says this to everyone..me the dogs, Bob, whoever is around really.) I quickly said to her "no that is not your Dada..God rest his soul"!

What a Crazy Year.....

this is starting out to be! This first few weeks of January have been nuts for us! Since we were spending New Year's in St Louis I felt the rush to get all the Christmas stuff put away before we left. This is a chore all by itself not to mention with a 14 month old helper:) On the Saturday after Christmas I decided to tackle the project. Bob being the helping husband that he is offered to take Reese and go run errands. While they were gone I ran through the house like a crazy person moving everything upstairs to be packed away in the attic. I got a little hasty and instead of waiting for Bob to come home and help me I carried our 12 foot artificial tree upstairs by myself. I didn't think that much about it except when Bob came home and was questioning me about how I did that? Hmmm... I guess I am just strong:) HA! Fast forward a few days and I can barely walk from a strained muscle in my abdominal area. Seriously I thought I was gonna die! Almost a week of rest and lots of Advil later I am finally recovered. Thanks goodness because we are supposed to be training for a marathon (another post on that later).

Yesterday I was planning to get back to working out and Reese wakes up at 4am with a bad cough and fever. Her fever was up and down all day and the pediatrician said to watch her and bring her in if it got over 102. So naturally around midnight when the pediatrician is closed she hits 105!! We rushed to the ER and after lots of poking and prodding they determine poor little Reese has a virus. Great! Today she has been sleeping most of the day and her fever is back down so I am hoping and praying she is on the mend. Hopefully next week things will settle down and life can get back to normal.

Reese's First Swimming Lesson

When Reese was just a few months old we started a Saturday morning routine where Reese and Bob hang out while Mommy gets some time out. They usually go eat breakfast and then play somewhere fun or shop for things that I would never buy her:) Bob loves this time with her and I enjoy the time out as well.

A few months ago I signed Reese up for a parent and child swimming class on Saturday mornings. I just assumed that I would go but Bob said he really wanted to take her. Today was the first class and knowing that Reese can be very clingy to me I went to workout while they went swimming. When they came home Bob was smiling and telling me how much fun they had. He said she was the only baby that was not afraid to put her face in the water. Apparently the swim instructor was a "nice looking" young guy and Reese thought he was cute. Maybe I will have to go next week:))

Beside the fact that we just put in a pool, Bob and I both love to swim and we want Reese to learn as well. I am so grateful for a loving husband and father who is willing to take the time to teach her.

New Year's In Missouri

Last Monday we flew to St Louis to see Bob's folks for the Holidays. We overslept and nearly missed our flight but thankfully we got on the plane just as they were about to take off (literally)! Reese did great on the plane and was very easy to entertain during her first plane ride.

When we landed Bob's parents were waiting for us at the airport and it was no surprise that our luggage didn't make it. We hung out for awhile at the airport waiting for our luggage before heading to Columbia where Bob's parents live.

When we got there Bob's sister and her family came over to open presents. After a long day of travel and no naps Reese actually went to bed before presents so we saved hers for the next morning.

Bob, Tiffany, Nick and Nate

It took her three days to open all her presents! We just let her open them whenever she wanted and then she would get distracted and go play with something else.

Reese and her Mimi opening a present.

Mimi (Bob's mom) watches his two nephews during the week while his sister teaches school. Since the kids are at her house so often Mimi has tons of toys! Seriously it was like Toys R Us!

We spent the next few days hanging out with family and playing with all the toys. Bob's Aunt and Uncle, cousin and his family came to see us one night. After another day of not napping much, Reese went to bed early that day as well..therefore no pictures.

On New Years Eve we all went out to dinner and then came home so Reese could go to bed before ringing in the New Year. They were passing out noisemakers at the restaurant and Reese thought this one was a lot of fun:)

Reese with her cousin Nick and Mimi.

Mimi got these funny masks for all the girls to wear on New Year's Eve.

Mimi also gave me one of my favorite Christmas gifts this year....Reese's little hood and a matching scarf for me..aren't they cute:)

We flew home on New Year's Day. Unfortunately for us and those around us Reese was NOT HAPPY on the flight home! Yikes!!

Nonetheless we had a fun visit with the family. Mimi had to ship all the presents to Dallas because they wouldn't fit in our suitcase so Reese and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival...it will be like Christmas all over again:)

Happy New Year to Everyone!
