Last week Reese attended Vacation Bible School at our church. This was her first time to attend vacation bible school and she was excited but didn't really understand the concept. I went to VBS every summer as a kid and I have many fond memories. I was tickled for Reese to get the opportunity to go and an extra bonus I was able to work from home in the afternoons so she didn't have to go to daycare all week. SCORE!
The theme for the week was "Sky-Up up and Away". They did some really neat activities and Reese met some new friends and learned a lot. We got a CD with the songs they were singing and all week we listened to it in the car. Makes me happy to hear her singing songs about God.
They made some fun things every day like this airplane hat.
These wings were by far her favorite. She was wanting to wear them to bed:)
On the last night they did a little performance of the songs the learned and had a pizza dinner. Not a great pic but you get the idea:)
I sure do love this little girl and I'm happy that she is learning to love the Lord.

Landry's Dance Recital
Reese's favorite friend Landry's dance recital was the week after Reese's so we were able to go and watch her dance as well. Landry takes dance at what Reese calls a "real dance place". Reese has been getting bored with the dance class at Primrose and she has been talking about wanting to take "real dance". After watching Landry's dance recital I definitely think Reese is ready and will enjoy taking "real dance" in the fall:) Hopefully we can even work it out for the girls to be in the same class.
Landry's dance was number 15 and shortly after her dance was intermission. I assumed we would leave at intermission because I wasn't sure Reese would stay interested in sitting and watching dance for more then an hour. We went out to take some pics of the girls and afterwards Reese insisted on staying to watch the whole show. She sat and watched for 2.5 hours...she was LOVING it.
Of course I don't have any actual dancing pics of Landry because you know I can't operate a camera:)
So glad we got to be a part of sweet Landry's first dance recital debut!

Dance Recital 2012
A few weeks ago Reese participated in her second dance recital since she started taking ballet at Primrose. She was looking forward to wearing the costume and getting on stage but most importantly getting to wear makeup!
Big yawn! This is my favorite picture of all...my sweet sleepy little dancer.
Our sweet friends Erin and Landry came to watch and of course take pictures for me:) If it weren't for Erin I would never have a single good picture of this child:) Thank you for the pictures E! I just love these two little girls to pieces.
Reese had quite a fan club, with Nanny and Poppy, Daddy, Erin and Landry and of course momma!:)
These little girls did a great job dancing and most importantly had fun. I am so so proud of my sweet little dancer.

The Fort Worth Zoo
A few Saturdays ago Reese and I took a visit to The Fort Worth Zoo. This was our first time to go and although it was a HAUL over to Fort Worth it was so worth it. The weather was beautiful, sunny but not hot and we really had a great day. We packed some lunch and snacks to try and keep things cheap. I don't know what it is about kids and Lunchables but this kiddo loves them. She wanted to eat hers as soon as we got there:)
After a snack we looked at the map and picked out what she wanted to see first. There was SO much to see we could go back and spend another day there. Her top priority was monkeys and elephants so we found them first.
After that we just roamed around looking at everything. Reese's favorite was this HUGE crocodile. Y'all know I am not a good photographer, and I was using my phone to take pics and there was glass there but you still get the idea:) This thing was massive..there were several kids standing staring at this thing for the longest time. This was kinda creepy!
As we were walking by the snake building I did NOT say a word and I was hoping we would just keep right on walking. I do NOT like snakes at all. I refused to go into the snake house as a kid...NEVER ever get near the snakes! But Reese noticed people going in and out and wanted to go...I told her they were snakes and it would be scary but nothing scares Reese. I considered paying a random stranger to take her in but quickly realized that was a no go so I told her I would only go if she held my hand and guided me through with my eyes closed. Ha! Little stinker thought it was hilarious that momma was scared. I'm not kidding those darn snakes will keep me awake at night....terrified!! Obviously no pictures of snakes but we did see this frog on the way out of the reptile building. Oh yeah..don't put money in him because he doesn't work!
My absolute favorite was this...
is that not the prettiest creature you have ever seen?! I love him! After that we had some ice cream, rode a train and just roamed around....
This big guy was just sitting in the window staring at Reese but he turned right when I snapped the picture. After that she said the gorilla and the crocodile were her favorites. Such a fun day with my kiddo...go check out the Fort Worth Zoo before it gets to hot!

Easter 2012
This year we had my folks and my brother and his family to spend Easter at our house. The weather has been beautiful and very warm so the kids were excited to get into the pool for the first time. The kids woke up on Saturday morning begging to get in the pool but I thought we needed to at least wait until the afternoon when it would be a little warmer. We were able to distract them with an Easter Egg hunt that Nanny had created. She did a special theme for each kid with puzzle pieces that led them to their big present. It was fun and as usual Reese doesn't really care about quantity of eggs. She wants to stop and open each egg to see whats in it:)
Nanny hid the eggs so well that we had to enlist adults to find the remaining two eggs to complete Reese's puzzle.
Finally after the lunch we let the kids get in the pool. Uncle Charlie was the only adult to brave the cold water!
I had been sick the week before Easter, in fact I was sick for almost 3 weeks with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. We didn't know yet what it was at the time but not only did I feel really BAD I looked really BAD, think..bad sores on my face. GROSS! This along with the fact that it's hard to get 3 young kids to stand still for pictures there are not any pictures of us before church on Sunday. SAD! I did randomly snap this picture of Reese on my phone after we got home from church. Guess there is always next year for pictures:)
After all I think it's more important to remember the reason we celebrate Easter then to stress over getting dressed up and taking pictures. I am grateful for family and my sweet daughter to spend this day with and most importantly for our Lord and savior. Happy Easter!

Easter at Primrose
The week before Easter Reese got sick with strep throat and we missed a few days of school and work. I wasn't sure she would get to attend the Easter party at school but she was feeling a lot better and was excited to go.
They started the party with an egg hunt
All the other kids are racing around crazy trying to get as many eggs as they can but not Reese. She wants to stop and open each one to see whats in it before getting more eggs. She cracks me up!
Her favorite egg was one with tattoos in it. Fun!
Sweet happy girl having some snacks:)

Happy Birthday Poppy
My folks came down last weekend to hang out with us and since it was almost my Dad's birthday, Reese insisted we celebrate. She wanted to make a cherry pie which is one of her favorites but also a favorite of Poppy.
Mom brought Reese some Discovery Toys homemade ice cream maker. She was pretty proud she saw it somewhere for like 5 bucks and it had been marked down from 5 million dollers, well maybe not that much but she thought it was a good deal. Haha!
Reese had a bowling birthday party to go to on Saturday afternoon and she was pretty excited to "show off" her grandparents. I told my folks they didnt have to go but mom said she would be happy to be Reese's "show and tell". Ha!
Reese loves her Nanny and Poppy!
