Lazy Sunday
Today it was kinda rainy and a little dreary. Reese and I decided it was a good day to stay in our jammies, carve a pumpkin and cook. You know the kind of day where the smell of something cooking on the stove makes you feal warm all over.
It's no secret to any of you that life has been more then a little crazy this year. It's hard to get real excited about cooking for 1.5 people. Beside the fact that she is done eating in 1.5 seconds or the massive amounts of leftovers that I always end up throwing away because its just to much for the two of us. But I really do love to cook so we decided to start with dessert first:) We made this chocolate chip cookie dough dip...

I forgot to take a picture of it so this one came from the blog where I got the recipe. You can go here if you want to try it out. Make sure you chill it for a bit before you eat it...oh my gosh Reese and I were chowing! Good thing I've been running a ton ha!
After that we put on a pot of Chicken Tortilla Soup and got to work on carving the pumpkin. I had Reese draw the face she wanted so I could trace it on the pumpkin.

I'm all about bang for my buck so you will notice we carved the same pumpkin Reese had already painted a few weeks ago:)
We started with cutting off the top...

and then little miss went to work cleaning out the goop..

We had dinner....Chicken tortilla soup..yummmmo! (You like my "turn the camera sideways attempt" at food photography..haa!)

Then my little mermaid wanted to light up her jack-o-lantern and try on her costume for the 12089365 time!

Just couldn't resist posting this one. She said she was practicing her diving and mermaid swimming moves:)

Oh yeah and one more after it was really dark enough to see our smiling Jack o Lantern.

Hope y'all had a nice relaxing Sunday too!

Autumn at the Arboretum.
A few weeks ago my mom came to town for a few days. We decided to take a trip to see the pumpkins at the Dallas Arboretum. It was a beautiful day and there were pumpkins everywhere...

Look at that ornery smirk!

They had 5 different Princess themed castles amongst the pumpkins, along with a few princesses roaming around:)

We stopped for a snack..

Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere!

They had some fun fointains that all the kids were playing in. Reese was wanting to get in the entier time but I made her wait until the very last to get wet becuase we didnt have any extra clothes. She got SOAKED and loved every minute of it..

I adore this dripping wet little mess:)

Movie date with a friend.
Reese and I got the chance to catch up with two of our favorite friends Erin and Landry to see a movie and eat lunch. The girls were running around all over the place but Erin was able to get them to pose for one pic while we were waiting for the theatre to open.

We went to Studio Movie Grill and had a yummy lunch while we watched the movie...perfect!

Thanks E for the pictures:)
