Just a little Sunday Stroll....

well maybe a little farther then that! Yesterday Bob, myself and my brother Chris ran in the White Rock Half Marathon. We had a great time and all finished strong. Bob was the leader and finished with a clock time of 2:02 and chip time of 1:55...he is a SUPER STAR!

Chris finished in 2:07 and I finished in 2:08. It was windy but warm and a great course with lots of entertainment. I'm gonna rest until January and then we are thinking of training for a full marathon in April!

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH!

Finally at 13 months old and two weeks of constant "COMPLAINING", Reese has two cute, teeny weeny little teeth. Hallelujah! Oh by the way she is 13 months old as of last Saturday. I was wandering if I would keep up the month day posts after she turned one but since I just realized the day had come and gone I guess I will not! It seems that her mood has improved now that the two teeth have broken through. However I am now realizing we have a long road ahead of us as she still needs a lot more teeth to fill up her little mouth. Pray for my sanity:)

5 Days and Counting....

until the big race on Sunday. Not only are we looking forward to the race this weekend but we are also really excited to see my brother and his family coming from Florida for the week. Reese is super excited to see her Florida cousins and Bob and my brother are planning to race each other to the death:) I of course am not talking any smack because I am not feeling as confident as usual. I am hopeful that the fact that I pushed a 20+ pound baby jogger for a portion of my training will give me a little edge over the two of them:)

You can go to the White Rock Website and track runners if anyone wants to check it out.

Santa Clause

Bob attended a conference at the Gaylord all weekend. He said the place was decorated beautifully for Christmas and they had a good looking Santa so today after church we headed over there. We saw Santa, ate lunch and then Reese and I walked around and played while Bob went to one last meeting.

Given that Reese will barely let anyone other then Bob or I hold her we were fully expecting to have to sit on Santa's lap with her. Bob was carrying her and sat her on Santa's lap and then we just smiled and waved at her and she never even cried. I was so thrilled!! She started to wiggle and her dress got a little hiked up but I was so glad she wasn't screaming I didn't even care..after all she was wearing tights so you couldn't see anything:) When we picked her up and she turned around and looked at Santa, she seemed a little surprised. Then she said "Hi" to him. We don't think she realized she was even sitting on someone's lap. I think it's a good thing too because after looking at the picture I even thought Santa looked a little scary!

The Gaylord had some really neat things for the Holidays and we will for sure go back when Reese is really old enough to enjoy them.

The Polar Bear Club!

Although the pool has been finished for a few weeks, there were some problems with the heater so this past week was the first time we were able to actually warm it up. On Monday they made the final repairs and we cranked up the hot tub for the first time. Bob and I used the hot tub every night this week which we loved after all the running we have been doing. Tonight for some crazy reason we decided we wanted to be the first ones in the pool so we QUICKLY dove in the pool and then jumped in the hot tub..yes I know we are crazy but it was fun:)

O Christmas Tree!

After we got home from our Thanksgiving trip, we spent the rest of the weekend getting out the Christmas decorations. Reese "helped" some but Bob and I did most of the decorating while she was already in bed. We were carful to put the breakable ornaments near the top so she could play with the ones on the lower limbs. We were a little surprised the last few days that she had barely even given the tree a second glance. Until this morning while Bob and I were getting dressed we came out to find this....

Then when we caught her she ran away with some of the paper. Luckily for her she opened a present that was actually for her. Looks like she will be getting a new toy a little early:)

TEN MILE TUESDAY....

was tough! Today was the last long run before the race in two weeks. Now we just coast into race day and hope that we are ready. The last time I ran a long distance race (before Reese) I felt like I was in much better shape and I was confident. This time not so much. Bob has trained harder then I have and he feels strong so I am counting on him to drag me to the finish line. Afterall our vows did say...in sickness, health and fitness:)
